Yorkshire Day

At Community Clothing we work with, and celebrate, communities right across the UK. Many of our clothes are sewn in Lancashire, we have lots knitted in Scotland, or the East Midlands, and we're very happy to say that a huge amount of clothing begins its life in that other great and historic British textile region, Yorkshire. Today being Yorkshire Day, we’re delighted to give a shout out to our amazing white rose communities, and our ten brilliant Yorkshire factories. We spin yarns in Shipley, Huddersfield, Saddleworth and Denby Dale, we dye fabrics in Holmfirth and Elland, we finish our amazing premium socks in Liversedge, and we spin, weave, dye and finish cloth in Pudsey on the outskirts of Leeds. From the oldest, Z. Hincliffe, established in 1766, to the newest, Shepley Yarns, set up a mere 23 years ago, these amazing mills have a combined experience which spans 1,142 years, and to this day work with some of the world’s most famous luxury brands. Between them they have a part to play in making the yarns and fabrics for our raincoats, woollen coats, socks, jumpers, and knitted accessories.

So, this Yorkshire day, why not treat yourself to a bit of clothing built with Yorkshire pride (even if you’re from Lancashire).
