Everything we do is a celebration of the people, the skills and the traditions of the amazing factories we work with, all of them the very best of their kind, all of them deeply embedded in the culture and history of their communities.
Great photographs don’t just show our clothes, they tell our story and connect you with what we do.
Our philosophy around photography is really simple: just keep it honest. Shoot the clothes as they are, don’t alter or pin them, don’t retouch. When our clothes arrive and you put them on we want them to look like the clothes you see in the pictures.
Celebrating 10 Years of Community Clothing. The highs, the lows, the socks and the factories
It's time to share our half annual impact figures, and once again it has been a fantastically positive six months. Lots of new customers, a couple of new factories we're developing product with (and a gang of hand knitters), and lots of skilled work created.
"This is, we believe, the only swimming short on the planet that contains absolutely zero plastic."
One Track Club is a global, science-driven running community and coaching platform designed for "everyday athletes" seeking structured training who we've been chatting to recently about our nature positive running gear. They've very kindly offered CC customers a month's free trial (open to everyone), on top of which you have the chance to win a coaching package worth £450.
We asked award-winning photographer, writer and skater Stuart Clapp (whose photos now appear in the pages of skateboard magazines - something that would have blown the mind of his younger self), along with his pals in the South Essex skateboarding community, to field-test the Community Clothing trousers.
Brilliant British Wool.
It’s that time of year when a third of our design team (it’s a small team) disappears and comes back a week later rather bleary-eyed and smelling slightly of wool.
Over 70% of clothing is made from oil-based plastics. Discover the impact and explore our plastic free range, made entirely from natural, biodegradable materials.
When we developed our kidswear we set out to make it brilliant: gorgeous organic materials, zero plastics, and the super-high make standards that we set for our adult clothes. Partly this was because we wanted to offer something better than everything else on the market, but partly because that’s the only way we know.
A well-worn pair of Cortez, nights in Leeds, and the origins of a design that inspired the Community Clothing Catlow.
International Women’s Day celebrates the cultural, economic, social and political achievements of women. As a business, our staff, including our freelance colleagues, are 73% women. Seven of our eleven female colleagues are working mums. And amongst the amazing people who manufacture our clothes there is a similarly positive story of equality in our workplaces. 43% of the manufacturing staff at our UK partner factories are women. We recognise equality in ability and reflect this through equality in pay.
