We’ve Discounted Our Kidswear

  • 1 min read

When we developed our kidswearwe set out to make it brilliant: gorgeous organic materials, zero plastics, and the super-high make standards that we set for our adult clothes. Partly this was because we wanted to offer something better than everything else on the market, but partly because that’s the only way we know.

But making things ethically, and to a high quality, comes at a price - and sadly it seems that price has proven to be too high for many of our customers. Without compromising on the product, which we don’t want to do, there is no way we can reduce the price without making absolutely no margin on it.

And so it is with some disappointment that we’ve taken the difficult decision to discontinue it, for the foreseeable future at least. Not everything we try will work out, and we have to focus our time, energy (and cash) on the things that do (which is pretty much everything else). And so, from today, we will be selling everything in our kidswear range at a 30% discount, which is essentially selling it at cost. We don’t think you’ll find better quality kids clothes anywhere and hopefully, the discounted prices mean it will all find a good home.

And of course, the plastic-free philosophy carries on in lots of our products, as will some of Will Broome’s brilliant illustrations, which appear on some of our adult products - and possibly a few more in the future.

“If you’ve met me anywhere in the last year or two, you’ve probably seen me wearing these. It’s probably my favourite of all the trousers we make at Community Clothing.” Meet Patrick's favourite trousers. The Field Trouser.

One Track Club is a global, science-driven running community and coaching platform designed for "everyday athletes" seeking structured training who we've been chatting to recently about our nature positive running gear. They've very kindly offered CC customers a month's free trial (open to everyone), on top of which you have the chance to win a coaching package worth £450.

We asked award-winning photographer, writer and skater Stuart Clapp (whose photos now appear in the pages of skateboard magazines - something that would have blown the mind of his younger self), along with his pals in the South Essex skateboarding community, to field-test the Community Clothing trousers.
